Woman charged after fatal shooting in Dale County

DOTHAN, Alabama (WTVY) – A Dothan woman faces murder charges in connection with a shooting late Thursday.

Dale County Jail records show officers arrested 25-year-old Mary Jackson several hours later.

Terrance Lewis Jr., 30, of Troy, died in the shooting, Dale County Coroner John Cawley confirmed.

He said the shooting occurred during a party at the Midtown Apartments.

As of Friday morning, Midland City police had not issued a statement on their homicide investigation, and Police Chief Willy Powell did not immediately return a message left for him.

Jackson is being held in jail without bail pending a detention hearing.
