Rashid Shaheed (toe/foot) will not miss much time
Rashid Shaheed (toe/foot) will not be out for a long time.

Fantasy influence

Shaheed's toe/foot injury has raised some concerns about his ability to play, but HC Dennis Allen allayed those concerns when he told reporters that the veteran receiver is not expected to be out for an extended period of time. It remains to be seen when he will be back in the lineup, but he still has some time to recover before the season opener in New Orleans.

Josh Downs training without boots or scooter
On Wednesday, it was reported that Josh Downs (ankle) was seen training without the boots or rollers he had been using to recover from the high ankle sprain he suffered on Aug. 7.

Fantasy influence

Downs was expected to miss about a month with his injury, but he appears to be making good progress. The second-year wideout had 771 yards and two touchdowns on 68 receptions in 2023 and will likely be a big part of the Colts' offense again in 2024.

Curtis Samuel (toe) has “good chance” of returning in Week 1
Buffalo Bills WR Curtis Samuel, who is battling a toe injury, has a good chance to return for Buffalo's season opener, head coach Sean McDermott says.

Fantasy influence

McDermott said he believes Samuel is close to returning based on what he's heard from the Bills' coaches, though the coach would not commit to the WR's availability in Week 1. Samuel is considered week-to-week because of turf toe, but could be back in time for the regular season. He is expected to play a major role in Buffalo's offense, especially given his return to a Joe Brady-led offense (77 receptions, 1,051 scrimmage yards and five total TDs combined in Carolina in 2020).

Noah Fant (foot) will likely play in Week 1
Noah Fant (foot) is likely to be ready to play before Seattle's game against the Denver Broncos in Week 1.

Fantasy influence

Fant is dealing with some sort of foot injury that is still affecting his availability in training camp. However, it is not a very serious issue at this time and the team expects him to be ready to play by the start of the season. He remains a fringe option for fantasy purposes this season.
