Man accused of attack at Summit County Metro Park charged with new counts

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – The 32-year-old man accused of attacking someone in a Metro park earlier this month was arraigned Friday in Summit County Common Pleas Court.

According to prosecutors, Issac Armour is now accused of kidnapping, attempted rape, sexual abuse and sexual assault.

Akron police said the attack occurred Aug. 12 on Cuyahoga Street near Trailhead in Summit County Metro Parks.

Officers said Armour grabbed the victim from behind and began attacking him as he exited a restroom.

Three Good Samaritans heard the victim's screams and managed to pull him out of the attacker's clutches, police said.

A witness reportedly hit Armour on the head with a rock to incapacitate him.

Armour's next court date has not yet been scheduled.
