Two men arrested for assault in Thompson

THOMPSON, Connecticut (WFSB) – Two men have been arrested for an attack that occurred in Thompson in May.

According to state police, 39-year-old Ruben Field of Putnam and 46-year-old Shawn Audet of Brooklyn traveled to Thompson on May 1 and attacked the victim with what police described as “metal objects.”

The victim was taken to the hospital.

“Based on information and evidence obtained during the subsequent investigation, officers issued arrest warrants for Shawn Audet and Reuben Field, which were approved by the Danielson Superior Court,” police said.

Audet was arrested on July 29 and charged with second-degree disturbing the peace and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault.

He was held on $150,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned the next day in Danielson Superior Court.

Field was arrested today and charged with second-degree disturbing the public peace, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, and third-degree assault on an elderly person.

Field was held on $175,000 bail and scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court the same day.
