Suspect in Juneteenth mass murder in Round Rock now faces murder charges

The Round Rock Police Department announced Friday evening that it had obtained additional arrest warrants for one of the suspects involved in the deadly mass shooting during Juneteenth celebrations this summer.

Keshawn Leray Dixon, 18, is now charged with two counts of murder and 13 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is the first of three suspects arrested in connection with the shooting and now charged with murder.

Dixon, who is currently in custody at the Williamson County Jail on charges of deadly conduct in connection with the shooting, will remain in custody while the new charges are filed against him.

The shooting occurred during the annual Juneteenth celebration at Old Settlers Park on June 15, 2024. Two women were killed and 14 others injured.

The first suspect, Ricky Tyrone Thompson III, 17, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The second suspect is a minor whose case is being heard behind closed doors in Williamson County.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
