Man dies in tow truck accident in Bonita Springs

A Bonita Springs man died in a crash near Channel 30 Drive and Old 41 Road. The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 26-year-old man was driving a Ford F-150 northbound on Old 41 Road behind a tow truck that was pulling another truck. Police said the tow truck braked to make a right turn onto Channel 30 Drive. According to the report, the Bonita Springs man did not brake before hitting the tow truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The tow truck driver was not injured, according to FHP. FHP says the crash is under investigation. The accident occurred on Friday around 5.30 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 26-year-old man was driving a Ford F-150 north on Old 41 Road behind a tow truck that was pulling another truck.

According to police officials, the tow truck slowed down to make a right turn onto Channel 30 Drive. However, the Bonita Springs man did not slow down before hitting the tow truck, according to the report.

His death was confirmed at the scene of the accident. The driver of the tow truck was not injured, according to FHP.

According to FHP, the accident is currently under investigation.
