Developer logs suggest all four M4 Macs could receive this long-overdue RAM upgrade

One of the main criticisms of Apple's otherwise excellent iMacs and MacBooks for years has been the small amount of RAM built into the cheapest models. While 8GB may be acceptable for some use cases, it's increasingly reaching its limits with modern software – and because the memory is soldered onto Apple's M-series chips, it can't even be upgraded at a later date after purchase.

But it looks like Apple is finally upping the RAM on its upcoming M4 Macs. In his latest Bloomberg article, which mainly focuses on the launch plan for the upcoming September event, the well-connected reporter mentions ongoing testing of M4 Macs coming after the iPhone 16 launch.
