Live TV broadcast shows leak at Premier League stadium, commentator says: “It's not just Old Trafford”

OLD TRAFFORD is not the only leaky stadium in the Premier League.

The United stadium was ridiculed last season after major leaks were observed in the roof during the game against Arsenal.

However, the Red Devils' away game in Sussex showed that the same problem occurs even in newer stadiums.

Due to heavy rain during the top match, the Seagulls' Amex Stadium was leaking.

TNT Sport commentator Darren Fletcher noticed the water falling through the roof and was heard saying: “You don't just see it at Old Trafford, it's everywhere.”

Scotsman Ally McCoist added: “What kind of weather have we got? What are you serving us down here?”

Fans also reacted to the leaky roof on social media.

Many joked that it must feel like a home game for Man United.

One posted: “I noticed it a few seconds ago and now the commentators have mentioned it too… Brighton's fancy Amex Stadium is leaking…

A third commented: “Looks like United have brought their leaky roof to Brighton's Amex Stadium.”

A fourth commented: “Manchester United fans must feel at home when water is dripping from the roofs at the Amex Stadium.”

Another added: “Just like Old Trafford, the Amex Stadium has leaks.”

The Amex opened in 2011, replacing Brighton's temporary Withdean Athletics stadium.

It has been the home of the Seagulls since their promotion to the Premier League in 2017.

Despite the bad weather, Fabian Hürzeler's team did not let up, as they took the lead before half-time.

Danny Welbeck scored the 100th goal of his professional career and gave Brighton the lead against his former club.

Amad Diallo equalised for Man United, but they were ultimately on the losing side as Joao Pedro later scored the winning goal for the hosts.

Erik ten Hag's team will be without Jadon Sancho as the coach hinted at “some problems”.
