While former President Donald Trump's lawyers continue to appeal to completely overturn the massive $454 million civil fraud verdict, they are not finished with their efforts to remove the single judge from the case.

Nearly a month after New York State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron declined to recuse himself from the case over complaints about a hallway conversation with real estate attorney Adam Leitman Bailey — an exchange the judge described as an unremarkable but annoying “nothing” — Trump’s lawyers filed a notice Thursday appealing to the Appellate Division, First Department, asking the court to find that Engoron erred in law and “abused his discretion” by failing to recuse himself and order an evidentiary hearing before another judge “on the credibility” of Bailey’s claims.
