Morgan Academy student athlete suffers brain injury

A student-athlete at Morgan Academy in Selma has suffered a brain injury and is in critical condition, according to the Alabama Independent School Association.

In a Facebook post, AISA executive director Michael McLendon said Caden Tellier suffered a tragic injury. He did not describe the details of the incident.

McLendon said Morgan Academy has suspended all school activities for a week.

“As a small school, Morgan Academy feels this tragedy more acutely than ever, and the Alabama Independent School Association is here to offer students any support and resources they need to assist them in their grief,” McLendon said.

“We ask our entire AISA family and the people of Alabama to join us in praying for peace and comfort for Caden’s family and the Morgan Academy community as they navigate this difficult time.”
