UT Dallas dorms flooded in viral TikTok, students rush to clean up

The TikTok has garnered nearly two million views.

DALLAS – Classes began at UT Dallas this week, and while the transition from summer to academic year went smoothly for most, some of the university's students faced some adversity right from the start.

A viral TikTok shows the chaotic scenes in UT Dallas dorms as students tried to clean up flooding in their rooms.

According to the university, a valve broke last week, flooding several areas of a dormitory. However, the university said the valve was quickly repaired and no rooms were damaged in the flooding.

A TikTok posted by user @livyker shows the extent of the flooding caused by the broken valve.

The video, which has been viewed nearly two million times, shows water coming out of the ceiling in one of the hallways as several students attempt to sweep, mop and even vacuum up the enormous amounts of water.

It is not entirely clear which dormitories were affected, but several commenters have stated that it was Capella Hall.

While this school year may not be off to the best start for these students, we certainly hope they have a great, successful, and dry semester!
