Woman allegedly poisoned her husband's Mountain Dew with the herbicide Roundup and the insecticide

A Lebanon, Missouri, woman is accused of trying to poison her husband with herbicides and insecticides by slipping him Mountain Dew after he gave her surveillance footage, police said.

The woman was identified as 47-year-old Michelle Peters, who allegedly did this several times in May and June, according to a statement posted on the Laclede County Sheriff's Office Facebook page on Wednesday.

According to police, Peters is accused of adding the herbicide Roundup and an insecticide to her husband's lemonade.

Husband became suspicious after he became ill

“The victim suspected the lemonade had been tampered with after he became ill,” police said.

He gave the police surveillance footage showing that Peters had tampered with the lemonade.

According to police, her husband was the only one in the household who drank Mountain Dew.

What accusation is Peters allegedly facing?

Peters was charged with first-degree domestic violence and armed criminal action, Fox 5 Atlanta and KY3 reported.

She is being held without bail at the Laclede County Detention Center.
