Aleema Khan and Raoof’s messages about Bushra Bibi ‘leaked’

ISLAMABAD: WhatsApp messages of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan and PTI chairman Raoof Hasan about former first lady Bushra Bibi have been leaked, ARY News reported citing sources.

According to security sources, the messages reveal that Aleema Khan asked Raoof Hasan to stop spreading Bushra Bibi's message mentioning a meeting with Imran Khan in prison as it would instigate the disinformation cell.

According to sources, Aleema Khan called the message “stupid” and asked Raoof Hasan not to share it.

The message, purportedly from Bushra Bibi, said that she was not allowed to meet the PTI founder alone in prison and that the jailer was pressured to hit the former prime minister. The message also mentioned a conversation between the PTI founder and the jailer.

In the leaked WhatsApp message, Aleema Khan denied that the PTI founder had made such a statement and asked Raoof Hasan not to spread the news.

It is important to note here that Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are currently detained in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Both were arrested in a fresh National Accountability Bureau (NAB) case related to Toshakhana, hours after their acquittal in the Iddat case.

The development came after the Islamabad District and Sessions Court accepted the appeal of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi against their conviction in the Iddat case.

The couple were sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of Rs 500,000 each in February this year after a court found their nikah to be fraudulent.
