TOWSON, MD – A Baltimore County man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting on Interstate 95 in Howard County.

Quwan Gordon, 48, of Owings Mills, was charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and other related offenses. Gordon was arrested without incident on the morning of August 13, 2024, at his residence in Baltimore County on related weapons and drug offenses.

On Monday, August 12, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Maryland State Police officers responded to a reported shooting on I-95 at mile marker 44 in Howard County. The victims told police they were shot during a “road rage” dispute with another motorist driving a white Volkswagen.

The victim's vehicle appeared to have been shot through the passenger compartment. Maryland State Police searched the victim's vehicle for evidence and subsequently recovered projectiles. The victims were unharmed in the incident.

Investigators were able to identify and locate the white Volkswagen and the driver, later identified as Gordon. Search warrants were served on Gordon's Owings Mills address and the vehicle, resulting in the seizure of suspected MDMA, fentanyl, and a loaded handgun. Gordon is prohibited from possessing firearms due to previous convictions. Gordon was initially charged with firearm and drug law violations.

Further investigation uncovered evidence linking Gordon to the August 12 freeway shooting in Howard County. After consultation with the Howard County District Attorney's Office, Gordon was charged Friday with attempted murder and related offenses. Gordon is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
