EastEnders shows first glimpses of Dean's dramatic courtroom episodes

Spoilers for EastEnders follow.

EastEnders has released the first images showing the drama that awaits us in the Dean Wicks murder trial next month.

The BBC soap has a week scheduled from Monday 2 September in which Dean's fate will finally be revealed after the Six's desperate plan.

Dean was arrested and charged with the death of Keanu Taylor earlier this year after The Six realized they could pin the crime on him, seeing it as a fitting punishment after Dean had escaped justice for his evil crimes in the past.

The Walford women have been covering their tracks since Linda Carter killed Keanu on Christmas Day to protect Sharon Watts.

In the new spoiler images from EastEnders, Sharon takes center stage as she gives her statement in court.

Sharon looks nervous as she takes the stand, and it will surely be one of her biggest challenges as Dean's defense brief will not make it easy for her.

Can Sharon keep calm when giving her testimony or will she stumble while having to remember a complicated cover story?

Meanwhile, another spoiler image from the big week shows Denise Fox, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale, Suki Panesar and Phil Mitchell all watching intently from the stands.

All eyes are on Sharon as she gives her statement, and everyone is hoping she comes through unscathed… but this is EastEnders, so that seems unlikely.

Matt Di Angelo – who plays Dean – recently confirmed that he will leave EastEnders at the end of the courtroom story, regardless of the outcome.

The actor hinted at a surprising twist at the end of the episodes, but did not reveal any further details so as not to give away the plot.

Further spoilers and pictures from the court episodes are published here: Digital Spy on Tuesday morning (27 August).

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One. The show is also available to stream on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes are available as early as 6am before their TV broadcast.
