Thomas Chase, victim of high-speed crash in Brighton, NY, is remembered

Rochester residents are mourning the loss of 92-year-old Thomas Chase, who died Thursday afternoon in a high-speed crash following a police chase.

The pursuit began in Rochester after three teenagers allegedly stole a car and fled. According to police, the pursuit lasted about eight minutes before the stolen vehicle collided with Chase's car at the intersection of East Avenue and Elmwood Avenue.

Chase, a Brighton resident and well-liked member of the community, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In memory of Thomas Chase

Thomas Chase, a 1954 graduate of the Eastman School of Music, was a prominent figure in the Rochester community. He was known for his involvement with Friendly Senior Living, where he volunteered for 30 years.
