Shooting in downtown Niagara Falls leaves two injured | Crime

In addition to the fatal shooting on Ninth Street Saturday night, Niagara Falls police are also investigating a second shooting that left two people injured at Fourth and Niagara streets.

At around 2:36 a.m. Sunday morning, police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of ​​Fourth Street and Niagara. One of the victims was transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle.

When police arrived at the hospital, they encountered a second gunshot victim. Both victims, a man and a woman, were eventually transported to Erie County Medical Center and are expected to recover from their injuries.

The shots were reportedly fired behind the 7-Eleven in the area. Officers from the Niagara Falls Police Department and New York State Park Police searched the area but were initially unable to locate a crime scene.

A Niagara County Sheriff's sniffer dog arrived at the scene to assist in the search for shell casings, but was unsuccessful.

The incident is under investigation.
