(Noble) Samantha Fish prepares to release new live performance recordings on Rounder Records, beginning with a powerful rendition of “Better Be Lonely,” accompanied by an official music video.

Originally featured on her 2021 chart-topping album Faster, the alternate version of “Better Be Lonely” captures the raw energy and magnetic stage presence Fish is known for. These upcoming releases follow a stellar year of touring that saw Fish share the stage with legends like Slash, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones, cementing her place as a modern guitar heroine who shows no signs of slowing down.

“Better Be Lonely” was recorded during the video shoot for a live performance in Nashville. This live track captures the essence of the album's themes: taking control in relationships and life, with an emphasis on self-determination. Fish's rebellious energy pulses through “Better Be Lonely,” a loose and casual track carried by a blistering guitar solo.

On performing live, Samantha explains: “Recording albums is one of my favorite things to do. It's an opportunity to reinvent myself and my sound… but on stage is where we really bring the songs to life. I feel like I connect with my audience the best from the stage. There's something really special about that kind of energy. It's raw, no frills… no major corrections or editing. It's about what you can do with the moment and I think it's important to try and bottle that.”

Fish, an award-winning singer/songwriter and guitar powerhouse, teamed up with outlaw country icon Jesse Dayton to record their 2023 collaborative album Death Wish Blues. The Grammy-nominated record debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues chart and stayed there for three consecutive weeks, making it Fish's fifth chart-topping album.

2024 was another banner year for Samantha Fish. She kicked things off with a high-profile performance alongside Eric Clapton at his Crossroads tour stop in Los Angeles, followed by a triumphant return to the New Orleans Jazz Fest where she wowed 30,000 fans. Fish's winning streak continued as she joined Slash on his SERPENT tour and later opened for the final show of the Rolling Stones' North American tour. Her relentless touring schedule continues with more US dates before joining the Experience Hendrix tour in September, and in October Fish will travel across the Atlantic with her band for a month, performing in the UK and Europe.

Having graced the covers of Guitar World and Vintage Guitar, Samantha Fish has become a darling of the music press. No Depression raved, “Samantha Fish can take you on a nature ride, chase your blues away or knock you to the ground with the raw thud of her oil-can guitar,” declared the New York Times. “In the last decade, she has been one of the most promising young blues artists, an expressive singer and a scrappy guitarist.” Variety magazine called her “a tough Kansas City woman with a slide guitar who belts out blues and rock 'n' roll,” and Offbeat magazine noted that Samantha “is well on her way to becoming an international star.”

Not only is she stunning, she's a whirlwind, touring at least 250 days a year, playing to sold-out crowds across the US, UK, Europe and Australia. With live tracks like “Better Be Lonely,” she's bringing the concert experience to more listeners than ever before.
