Man arrested with explosives after barricade standoff in Mililani Mauka | Crime and Courts

New details have been released regarding the barricade situation in Mililani Mauka.

A source told Island News that a neighbor of Bolosan reported seeing Bolosan with a Molotov cocktail. When an officer arrived at the scene, Bolosan was seen entering his townhouse and refusing to come out.

Officers checked the outside of Bolosan's townhouse and found an explosive device that was still burning and smoldering.

Bolosan refused to leave his unit. Eventually, SWAT officers entered Bolosan's unit and arrested him on Sunday morning, August 25, 2024.

MILILANI, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) has arrested a man in connection with an apparent barricade situation in the Mililani Mauka area.

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, at approximately 10 p.m., officials reported that 36-year-old Jonathan Bolosan was observed with a prohibited explosive device on Koolani Drive in Mililani.

When HPD arrived, Bolosan barricaded himself in his home and refused to leave to speak with officers. Crisis negotiators and officers from the Specialized Services Division were on scene.

Bolosan was taken into custody at around 12:48 a.m. and charged with resisting arrest and possession of an explosive device.

No injuries have been reported and no further information has been released so far.
