16-year-old charged with quadruple murder and robbery in Whitfield County

UPDATE:

A 16-year-old is in custody for his role in Saturday's quadruple murder, the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office said at a press conference on Sunday.

They said there was also reason to believe that robbery was the motive for the shooting.

EARLIER:

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, four men were found shot to death in Whitfield County late Saturday night. A manhunt for suspects is currently underway.

WTVC's Meg Doyle was live on the scene today and gave a summary of what we know so far.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, officers responded to reports of shots fired in Pleasant Grove Park around 11:14 p.m. Saturday.

WCSO reports that upon arrival

Four men of Hispanic origin were found dead.

The sheriff's office is currently looking for an SUV type vehicle and a dark colored hatchback.

They assume that the vehicles came under fire.

Sheriff Scott Chitwood will hold a press conference this afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office.
