Netflix hacker threatens to leak more of Arcane season 2, but fans don't believe it

Arcane Season 2 may be the final installment in the Netflix series, but that sacred status hasn't protected it from major online leaks.

Full episodes of Arcane season 2 found their way online after the streaming service fell victim to a major security breach in August 2024.

Five episodes of Riot Games' animated series appeared online, alongside episodes of Dandadan, Ranma 1/2, and Terminator Zero. The shows' episodes contained timestamps, watermarks, and annotations for later music and sound effects, revealing that the episodes in question were not yet completed.

This was a blow to fans and creators alike, especially considering how much effort goes into bringing the world of Arcane to life on the small screen. Now, a Netflix hacker has hinted at the possibility of further leaks, writing on X/Twitter: “Who wants Arcane S02 EP 6&7?”

The “hacker” in question, who goes by @jacejohns4n online, is known for regularly threatening leaks of popular content. In the past, they've hinted at leaks for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Stranger Things Season 5, though keen observers have noted that these never actually materialized.

Therefore, the temptation of further Arcana leaks seems hollow to those in the know.

“Brother is lying through his teeth,” read one comment on the post.

“Did you actually leak anything or just repost things that were already posted?” asked another.

“F**k you, you imposter,” wrote another.

A similar reaction appeared on Reddit during the alleged Sonic 3 hack, with one user writing, “Can this guy finally shut up? He keeps saying 'I'll do it! Sike! But I'm actually going to do it!' (He won't). At this point just say you don't have it/are being sued and stop talking. Jeez.”

And fans are fighting back. As for Arcane, many fans of the series are urging others to ignore the leaks if they are real.

“Guys, I know you're all excited for season 2; I am too,” one comment read. “But please, please have the discipline not to watch these leaked episodes; the show is UNFINISHED and we owe it to the artists working on this amazing series to only watch it if they give it their green light; otherwise we'll ruin the experience.”
