Moses Itauma wants next fight against former world champion

Moses Itauma (10-0, 8 KOs) – if you don’t know, you soon will. The Slovakian-born fighter, who now fights out of Chatham, Kent, seems destined for greatness. So far he has shown his devastating power with his left hand, which is a deadly weapon, alongside his hand speed, which makes him a massive problem for the heavyweight division. Most recently he knocked out the long-lived Polish fighter Mariusz WachAfter this victory, attention turned to his next fight and Itauma has high goals as Frank Warren believes in his young fighter.

The dangerous left-hander has shown great footwork and intelligence in his young professional career and has impressed in all of his fights. His ability to control distance in his fights has allowed him to stop eight opponents with his left bombs. It will be interesting to see how these skills translate as he continues to climb up the rankings.

It remains clear that the Kent fighter has a great future in the sport and he has high goals, as Frank Warren recently told Talksport: “His next fight, which he told me he would like to see, is against Joseph Parker. You heard right. That's what he said.”

Warren continued: “That’s what he was talking about, and he said, ‘I really, really I imagine this fight. I think it will become a reality in the next 12 months. If he continues like he has been doing so far.”

Praise for Itauma

'Enriko Itauma' has received much praise from many in the boxing world, and the Ben Davison-trained fighter received large Praise from former cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion David Haye after his destruction of Ilya Mezentsev: “I saw a future world champion.” He continued: “I saw someone who had all the necessary qualities.”

Haye added: “Physically being in the position you are at 19, skills, not taking unnecessary hits. The punching power is there. That's what you want to see in a future champion.”

Itauma's impressive rise in the heavyweight division suggests that a future champion is in the making. Stay tuned.
