Huskers Week 1 Depth Chart Released; Rhule Speaks at Start of UTEP Prep

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Nebraska football has begun preparations for its Week 1 game against UTEP. Matt Rhule will speak to the media after practice Monday morning – you can watch his full interview in the video player above when it becomes available.

The first game notes were released to the media on Monday morning and included the Nebraska team's first official roster for the season.

Looking at the lineup chart, the outliers are where the word “-OR-” appears, meaning any player next to “-OR-” could be the starter at the position listed. This is notable at the kicker position, where Tristan Alvano and John Hohl could both start on Saturday.

All 4 of Nebraska's top running backs also have an -OR- listed. The competition in the backfield has been fierce throughout fall camp and we can expect to see a mix of these 4 guys in the first game.

The Huskers will play the University of Texas El Paso at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Memorial Stadium. According to ESPN, the Huskers are 27.5-point favorites over the Miners, with an over/under limit of 48.5 points for Saturday's game.
