Leaked images of alleged Pixel 9a reveal design and new camera bar: What to expect

Google recently launched four new smartphones as part of its latest pixel 9 Series. Meanwhile, rumors are circulating about the upcoming mid-range Pixels 9a are already circulating on the Internet. An informant has leaked a few pictures of the alleged Pixel 9a, which provide an insight into the next Pixel A-Serie Smartphone could look like.
According to a report by 9to5Google, the leaked images of the alleged Pixel 9a were first uploaded in a private Facebook group of Vietnamese Pixel fans. However, the images from the Facebook group were later removed. Meanwhile, another informant, ShrimpApplePro, shared these leaked images on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). These images revealed that the upcoming Pixel 9a will have a different look than the newly launched Pixel 9 series.

Google Pixel 9a images leaked: What to expect

According to the leaked images, Google could flatten or even remove the camera bar on the Pixel 9a. The images show a dual-camera setup with a shiny ring around it, reminiscent of the rounded floating camera bar on the Pixel 9 series.
The LED flash appears to be mounted on the right side, outside the camera module. However, these leaks suggest that the Pixel 9a's camera system will sit flush with the frame and not protrude beyond the back of the device.
This would also be the first major design feature not carried over from the main series to the A-series since the Pixel 4a, which had a single camera system. Removing the camera bar could also help differentiate the lineup from the Pixel 9 series and reduce costs.
The leak also suggests that the Pixel 9a could adopt the boxy design of the Pixel 9 series, with flat side rails and a SIM tray that appears to move down to the bottom bezel, similar to the latest flagship models.
It is unclear whether the display edges are even on all sides, but compared to the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, the screen edges seem more pronounced.
The leaked images also show the Pixel 9a with a matte back plate and side rails. The source further claimed that the Pixel 9a could launch by “the end of this year” and could come in up to four colors, including a “silver” option.
