Leesville couple accused of stealing communications cables

KURTHWOOD, Louisiana (KPLC) – A Leesville couple is accused of stealing communications lines in Vernon Parish.

On August 22, Dennis Moreau, 38, and Toni Moreau, 45, were arrested by the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office.

The arrests followed an investigation into phone thefts on La. 117 in Kurthwood Township, VPSO said. The thefts resulted in tens of thousands of dollars in property damage to phone lines over several months, officials said. VPSO identified the couple as responsible for the thefts.

Dennis and Toni were arrested and both charged with one count of grand larceny. No bail has been set for either of them and both remain in the VPSO jail.
