2 people injured in accident between motor vehicle and horse-drawn carriage

CHASEBURG, Wis. (WEAU) – Two people were injured in a collision between a motor vehicle and a horse-drawn vehicle in rural Chaseburg in Vernon County Monday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred on August 26 on County Road KK northwest of Waldenberger Lane, near the border of the cities of Harmony and Hamburg.

Kurtis Woodhouse, 30, of the Genoa, Wisconsin area, was driving a motor vehicle southeast on County Road KK when he looked away for a moment and collided with the rear of a horse-drawn vehicle.

Reuben Miller, 34, of rural Chaseburg, Wisconsin, was the driver of the horse-drawn wagon. Both he and his passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Miller, were injured and taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

Both were released on Monday evening.

The crash is still under investigation.
