Red Lion man charged with attempted murder in knife attack on man

A Red Lion man has been charged with stabbing another person with a knife during a fight last week, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Joel McWilliams, 36, of Red Lion, was charged with attempted third-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of an assault weapon, recklessly endangering another person and other offenses, a news release said.

The 42-year-old victim suffered injuries to his cheek and neck in the stabbing, the press release states. His condition at WellSpan York Hospital is stable.

On August 23 at approximately 10:22 p.m., police responded to a reported stabbing in the 300 block of First Street in Red Lion, the release states. They found the victim and took him to the hospital.
