Imran Khan's tirade against unqualified PCB chief from prison after PAK's defeat against BAN: “Naqvi was behind most of the election frauds”

Former Pakistan Prime Minister and World Cup captain Imran Khan lashed out at PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi after Shan Masood and Co. suffered their first Test defeat against Bangladesh. Bangladesh were completely superior to Pakistan and recorded their first victory over them in cricket in 23 years.

Pakistan have hit rock bottom in all formats of late. Last year they failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup and this year they were knocked out in the group stages of the T20 WC. The loss to Bangladesh in Rawalpindi was the final nail in the coffin for them.

Before the Test series, captain Shan Masood said he would love to play in the final of the World Test Championship next year, but it seems that is a long lost dream for them. After losing the first Test in Rawalpindi, Pakistan have dropped to eighth place in the World Test Championship rankings after the 10-wicket defeat.

Imran Khan, who has been in Adiala Jail since last year, spoke to reporters from there. He expressed his disappointment over the decline of Pakistani cricket and blamed the current government for it.

“Cricket is the only sport that the entire nation watches with great interest on television, but even that has been destroyed by powerful circles who have installed an unqualified, favored umpire to maintain their control,” Imran Khan said, according to his account X.

The 1992 World Cup-winning captain claimed that Pakistani cricket had reached a new low with the Test defeat to Bangladesh.

“For the first time, we (Pakistan) have failed to finish in the top four in the World Cup or the top eight in T20. And yesterday we suffered an embarrassing defeat against Bangladesh, which is a new low. Just two and a half years ago, this team had beaten India by 10 wickets. What happened in these two and a half years when we lost to Bangladesh by 10 wickets? The blame for this whole collapse lies with an institution,” he added.

“Mohsin Naqvi owns a property in Dubai worth five million dollars”

Imran did not hold back in his explosive tirade against PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, claiming that a corruption investigation was launched against him by the NAB in 2008.

“Mohsin Naqvi owns a property worth five million dollars in Dubai in his wife's name. He is involved in the wheat procurement scandal and is behind the biggest election rigging in our country. What are his qualifications? Under him, public order is deteriorating across the country. People are being killed every day in KP and Balochistan. Punjab Police has been tasked with cracking down on PTI, which has enabled thieves and bandits to become so strong that they have started kidnapping and murdering policemen. Mohsin Naqvi himself was investigated by NAB in 2008 for corruption,” he said.

The second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh will also be played in Rawalpindi starting next Friday. Karachi was originally scheduled to be the venue but was shifted to Rawalpindi due to ongoing construction work at the National Bank Stadium.
