New London man charged with multiple drug offenses

On August 13, the Stanly County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division launched an investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine.
A vehicle driven by Frank Yang of New London was stopped on U.S. Highway 52 North. A search of the vehicle and Yang's person found more than 76 grams of methamphetamine, the sheriff's office said.

Yang was charged with trafficking methamphetamine by possession, trafficking methamphetamine by transportation, possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, and keeping a vehicle for the sale of controlled substances.
Yang was given a $500,000 secured bail for the charges.
After the investigation into Yang continued, a search warrant was issued on August 16 for his residence at 344 E. Church Street in New London.
During a search of the house, numerous drug paraphernalia and controlled substances were found, the sheriff's office said.
More than 53 grams of methamphetamine and a field with a positive fentanyl test were discovered in the apartment.
Yang was subsequently charged with trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, and possession of a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance.
Yang was given a $250,000 secured bail for the charges.
