He claimed his wife's daughter wanted to “get her mother out of the way” so they could cash in her life insurance policy and promised to marry him after they “took care of the woman,” court documents show.

Each time, the woman was unconscious for about 13 hours due to the mixture of substances, court documents say.

Ruf explained to police that his stepdaughter and her friend allegedly came to the woman's house to have sex with him while she was under the influence of drugs.

He was finally caught after the woman contacted police in early 2022 and said she had been hospitalized six times in a matter of weeks and tested positive for drugs she had not taken.

She had gone to the hospital after suffering from unexplained headaches, drowsiness, diarrhea and other symptoms.

Subsequent tests showed traces of cocaine, MDMA and antidepressants in her body.

She was able to show the police one of the Coke cans she had drunk from, which had traces of a cream-colored residue inside.

When police arrested Ruf, they reportedly investigated allegations made against the stepdaughter and her friend, but no arrests were made.

Meanwhile, Ruf was sentenced to four years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm endangering life.

The charge of conspiracy to commit murder was dropped as part of the deal.
