Victim dies days after incident in 5000 block of Swope Parkway

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — An 18-year-old died Monday from injuries sustained in an Aug. 21 incident, according to Kansas City, Missouri police.

Last Wednesday around 6:30 p.m., officers were called to the 5000 block of Swope Parkway for reports of a disturbance.

Police found the victim, 18-year-old Montague Ashline, who suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Ashline was then taken to a nearby hospital. He died a few days later.

The investigation revealed that Ashline was hit by an object during an interaction between several people, detectives said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
