One driver injured in tractor-trailer crash in Clara City, Minnesota – West Central Tribune

CLARA CITY – A driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries when his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer in Clara City, Minnesota.

The crash was first reported around 5:32 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 23 and Minnesota Highway 7. Dale Allen Robinson, 65, of Currie, was identified as the injured driver in the crash.

According to a Minnesota State Patrol accident report, Robinson was traveling north on Highway 23 in a GMC Sierra while a Peterbilt semi-trailer driven by 34-year-old Benjamin Ruther of Winsted was traveling west on Highway 7. The vehicles collided.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Ruther was uninjured in the accident. Robinson was taken to CentraCare – Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar for treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The airbags in Robinson's vehicle deployed.

According to the State Patrol, alcohol was not a factor in the accident. Road conditions were wet at the time of the accident.

Clara City EMS, Clara City Fire Department and Chippewa County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
