Girlfriend of accused Leesburg shooter turns herself in after family arrested

LEESBURG, Florida. – About two months after a store clerk was fatally shot in Leesburg, the suspect’s girlfriend has turned herself in, police say.

In a news release, police said the suspected shooter, 25-year-old Alex Lopez, was responsible for killing the store clerk during a robbery on Picciola Road in June.

Lopez faces charges of murder, armed robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and use of a firearm during a crime.

Investigators said 25-year-old Alex Lopez was captured on surveillance video attempting to rob a Leesburg convenience store earlier this year. (Leesburg Police Department)

But he is not the only one facing charges in this incident.

His mother and sister – Patricia Kinchens, 43, and Breanna Lopez, 27 – were also accused of hiding Lopez from investigators. Both are accused of aiding and abetting after the fact.

While the couple was arrested last week, police were still searching for Lopez's girlfriend, Kaili E. Dupuis, 25, of Wildwood.

According to police, Dupuis turned herself in to the Lake County Jail on Tuesday, where she is being held without bail.

Like Lopez's mother and sister, Dupuis faces charges of accessory after the fact.

Lopez is scheduled to appear in a guilty plea conference on September 10.
