1 arrested for assault after incident in London apartment

LONDON, Kentucky (LEX 18) – London police report that a person was arrested and charged with assault, among other things, following an incident that occurred at a London home on Saturday.

According to police, Heather R. Manning was arrested and charged with second- and fourth-degree assault, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of false imprisonment.

Police said officers were dispatched to a home at 1 Heather Way at 11:04 p.m. When they arrived, they found Manning lying on the ground outside the home with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Inside the house, officers found Judy W. Roberts lying on the floor. She had sustained “injuries that appeared to be the result of an armed attack by Manning,” according to a press release from the agency.

Both were taken to CHI St. Joseph-London Hospital and later transferred to UK Hospital in Lexington.

The press release states that Manning is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center and is awaiting transfer to the Laurel County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
