Man and woman suspected of breaking into former Preble County school building – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

PREBLE COUNTY – A man and woman accused of breaking into an old school building in Preble County were arrested Tuesday morning.

According to the Preble County Sheriff's Office, an officer was conducting a stop at the former Preble Shawnee Elementary School at 2:40 a.m. when he noticed a vehicle behind the building and found a man and a woman.

Officers found tools in the vehicle, including crowbars, metal saws, bolt cutters, headlights and flashlights.

They also discovered suspected drugs, cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as a loaded weapon.

The man admitted that they tried to break into the building.

Officers arrested Courtney Thompson, 39, of Dayton, and Noah Wolfe, 26, of Greenville, the sheriff said.

Both were charged in Eaton Municipal Court on multiple counts, including possession of a weapon while disabled, aggravated drug possession, heroin possession, burglary and possession of criminal tools.

Wolfe remains in the Preble County Jail while Thompson was released on bail.
