Filming of “Badlands” begins, synopsis leaked

After the success of Prey, Dan Trachtenberg seems to be leading the future of the Predator series for some time to come. In addition to Prey 2, the director will also direct Predator: Badlands, a film set sometime in the near future.

According to a leak discovered by AVPGalaxy, the film could already be filming in New Zealand. A casting page discovered by the publication not only revealed that a film codenamed Backpack, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, is currently filming in New Zealand, but also provided us with an early synopsis, which reads as follows:

“A groundbreaking film in which one of the two main storylines explores the complex bond between two very different sisters. Their familial ties are put to the ultimate test as they pursue different paths and missions.”

Very vague, but casting is looking for a lead actress to play two sisters. We've heard that Elle Fanning is set to play the lead role in Predator: Badlands, so we'll have to wait and see if that works out or not. Either way, it seems like the next Predator movie is on the way.
