Kingsburg police are urging families to be vigilant after a registered sex offender allegedly approached high school students.

KINGSBURG, Calif. (KFSN) – Kingsburg police are urging families to be vigilant after a registered sex offender allegedly approached high school students.

On Monday, officers received a report of a man in a car demanding that a student come to him in the area of ​​Kern and Eighth.

A second report also said the same man attempted to stop students near Kamm and 18th.

The police found the suspicious vehicle and the man described by the students.

According to authorities, he is a registered sex offender from Reedley.

Officers questioned the man and said he admitted making hand gestures toward the students but denied calling them to his car.

Due to the nature of the allegations, the man has not yet been arrested.
