Murder suspect falls through ceiling while US Marshals search his house

A murder suspect was arrested after he fell through the ceiling of a house where he was hiding. The US Marshals Service said they arrested the 20-year-old Dear Wilkerson to a house in Memphis and sent units to arrest him.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office and the Memphis Police Department's Fugitive Apprehension Team surrounded the home while marshals went in and attempted to execute the warrant.

When the marshals entered the house, Wilkerson was hiding in the attic. While they were searching for Wilkerson, the floor in the attic gave way and he crashed through the ceiling and landed in the kitchen.

He was uninjured in the fall and was taken into custody. He is charged with premeditated murder and reckless endangerment by the use of deadly weapons in connection with the killing of Troy Cunningham in April.

Authorities said Wilkerson is one of three suspects in connection with Cunningham's murder. They said three men stole Cunningham's gun and then shot him as he ran away. The other two suspects have already been arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the murder.
