Woman vs. man 'twosomes' with signature US Open cocktails go viral – NBC New York

There is no better way to impress a lady at the US Open than with a typical Honey Deuce cocktail – or so thought one hopeful gentleman.

A video capturing this moment is causing excitement among tennis fans.

On Monday, a man at Louis Armstrong Stadium eagerly took his seat, clutching two iconic Honey Deuces, ready to watch American star Frances Tiafoe in action. But just as he was about to sit next to a lady, someone else came over and handed her a drink first.

The man was visibly upset by the situation and was left with two US Open cocktails worth $23 in his hand – and no lady.

It wouldn't be a viral moment if fans didn't comment on the interaction, or lack thereof.

“Good thing he has two drinks to numb the pain now,” one user told X. Another said, “$23 and a bruised ego.”

Fans also speculate whether the man knew the woman – or whether it was actually their first meeting.

The official drink of the US Open, the Grey Goose Honey Deuce, has taken the tournament by storm.

Described as “the hottest accessory of the season,” the cocktail has become a crowd favorite among tennis fans (450,000 cocktails were sold during the 2023 tournament), whether they’re immersed in the action or just looking to mingle and socialize.
