Indianapolis prison sees second death within a week

INDIANAPOLIS – Police officials are investigating the death of a man in custody at the Marion County Jail.

Carlos Lagunes-Fraceschy, 41, was found unconscious in the Adult Detention Center's infirmary Wednesday morning. At 10:40 a.m., about 25 minutes later, medical personnel pronounced him dead, according to the sheriff's office.

The cause and manner of Lagunes-Fraceschy's death were not disclosed.

A sheriff's news release said he was taken to the infirmary the previous evening because of stomach pains. Police said he was examined by medical personnel at 9 a.m. When they checked him again at 10:15 a.m., he was unresponsive.
