Bengals' Jake Browning and Amarius Mims making progress in returning from injuries

The Cincinnati Bengals have assembled their 53-man roster and filled their practice squad, and now all they have to do is face the Patriots in Week 1.

As part of their preparations for opening week, they took the field on Wednesday and we received some positive injury updates from Mike Petraglia.

Browning, Joe Burrows' backup, missed the last two preseason games with a rib injury, but his spot on the roster was never in jeopardy. Based on his play in the 2023 season, he will be Burrows' backup as long as he's on the team.

Having Browning back on the field is a step in the right direction. Hopefully he won't be needed, but if he is, he'll be healthy.

Mims hasn't been actively practicing, but just the fact that he didn't start the season on the PUP or IR list with any prospect of a return should make Bengals fans happy. It hopefully means he'll be healthy sooner rather than later.

Stay tuned for further injury updates as the season approaches.
