2 people killed in shooting near Sterling office complex

Two people are dead after an early morning shooting near an office complex in Sterling, Virginia, officials said.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call was made around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning about a dispute at a Huntington Square apartment complex.

When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds on a wooden fence of an adjacent office park on Ridgetop Circle.

Both people – a man and a woman in their twenties – were taken to hospital where they later died.

Preliminary investigations indicate that after the argument broke out in the complex, the two victims walked around the fence to the spot where the shooting occurred.

Officers are still looking for suspects. Authorities believe this was a targeted incident.
