According to CCSO, Sammie Smock, 40, of Hazel initially refused to comply with investigators' orders but was eventually taken into custody. Ricky Craig King, 44, was allegedly caught attempting to dispose of illegal drugs. Both were booked into the Calloway County Jail.

Smock was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (first offense): less than 2 grams of methamphetamine/enhanced narcotics (Class C felony); second-degree possession of a controlled substance (hallucinogen); illegal possession of a prescription drug; possession of drug paraphernalia; and obstruction of governmental operations.

King was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (first offense: less than 2 grams of methamphetamine/enhanced drug) (Class C felony); tampering with evidence (Class D felony); second-degree possession of a controlled substance (hallucinogen); unlawful possession of a notorious drug; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
