Two dead in double shooting in Rockville

According to local police radio reports, police are investigating a double shooting in Rockville near Norbeck Road and Avery Road. Roads in the area, including Norbeck Road, are currently closed.

According to radio transmissions, Montgomery County police and firefighters were initially called to Montgomery Concrete Operations at 14901 Southlawn Lane in Rockville around 7:51 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

At around 7:55 a.m., police radioed that they found another person with a gunshot wound to the face and a gun in the front seat of a car at the corner of Southlawn Lane and Avery Road.

At least one of the people shot was taken to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda and pronounced dead at 8:54 a.m., the broadcasts said.

The second person shot was also taken away and pronounced dead at 9:02 a.m., the broadcast said.

Several roads in the area, including Norbeck Road and Southlawn Lane, are closed.

Montgomery County and Rockville City police did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
