Home Depot's viral 12-foot skeleton is now in stores

It’s finally here – Home Depot’s ever-viral and mega-popular 12-foot-tall skeleton has landed on the floor of its warehouse.

In years past, the retailer has struggled to keep the iconic Skelly in stock once it hits stores, so anyone hoping to get their hands on it this year should consider showing up at their local store early on Thursday.

With Skelly's new dog and very fashionable accessory set, it's likely to disappear from shelves faster than ever, and online stock is limited as well. Fear not, latecomers—there are plenty of other eye-catching products in this year's Halloween line that will also be available in brick-and-mortar stores starting today.

As USA TODAY previously reported, the 2024 Home Depot collection has something for everyone, especially those who prefer a little spooky for the holidays.

Are you currently making your list? Here's a quick summary of some of Home Depot's deals this season.

You know it, you love it, and you probably have to wait in line to get your hands on it.

Skelly, Home Depot's official name for the 12-foot-tall skeleton figure that first went viral in 2020, is back for another season, offering new features for both existing Skelly owners and first-time buyers.

In addition to a new accessory set featuring a wig, jewelry, bag and giant shoes in the style of Wednesday Adam, Home Depot also offers a new eye set with multiple settings and a new lighting kit for Skelly, as well as a new “spooky” head that can be swapped out for an even more sinister look.

The new kits are compatible with older Skelly models that don't incorporate some elements of newer models, such as the multi-adjustable eyes. You don't need to buy a whole new Skelly to keep up with the latest giant skeleton technology: one of these kits will do the trick.

The newest and limited edition Skelly model with a rotating head, called the “Servo Skelly”, is sold exclusively online for $379. The original Skelly model costs $299.

But that's not all that's new in Skelly's life. He also has a new pet. Skelly's dog is 2.10 meters long and, like the newer Skelly models, has multiple eye positions.

For $199, you can take home man’s – er, skeleton’s – best friend.

Even more larger-than-life options

Starting Thursday, several other extra-large figures will also be available for sale, including a 12-foot-tall Inferno Deadwood Skeleton, a 16-foot-tall Animated Jack Skellington, and a 12-foot-tall Levitating Reaper.

Familiar faces

If you're afraid of dolls or monsters, these new animatronic figures with enhanced facial articulation might give you a real fright.

This year, Home Depot, in collaboration with the owners of the respective images, brought classic horror characters to life with frighteningly realistic facial expressions and movements.

Chucky, the original evil doll from 1988's “The Killer Doll,” is featured in this year's collection as a 3-foot-tall cartoon doll. Dressed in his classic overalls and holding a knife, Chucky alternates between phrases written specifically for the Home Depot decoration — as it turns out, the language in the original film was a little too vulgar to be used in stores.

What's even creepier is that Chucky's face not only features rolling and moving eyes, but also an eerie smile that distorts his realistic-looking face into a menacing grin.

He is accompanied by Frankenstein's monster, another unmistakable horror icon. Like Chucky, the 7-foot tall, LED-lit Frankenstein monster has a face that looks like real skin, with large, wandering eyes that follow you around the room.

Chucky retails for $199, while Frankenstein sells for $279.

Standing still is frightening

Not an animatronics person? Home Depot has plenty of options for scares without any “jump” parts. Some of the highlights currently in stores include:

An 8-foot-tall skull and crossbones archway for $199, a two-pack of grimacing jack-o-lanterns for $79, assorted tombstones (based on real tombstones the Home Depot team has seen in real cemeteries) for $79, and an 8-foot-tall stack of giant LED skulls with light-up eyes for $199.

You're not a super-scary decorator, but more of a fan of cute and spooky entertainment? There are options for you too. A few fun ones:

A 30-inch Golden Retriever ghost ready to play trick-or-treat for $39, a 30-inch glow-in-the-dark Labrador puppy for $39, and a cute glow-in-the-dark mama mouse for $39.
