TikTok star Eixchel Berroteran shares gruesome details of attack after his stepfather allegedly tried to murder her and her mother

A Florida TikTok influencer claims her stepfather tried to murder her and her mother in a bloodbath because he blamed her for the failure of their marriage.

Eixchel Berroteran, known as Eixchelb to her 4.3 million TikTok and 650,000 Instagram followers, claims the gruesome attack occurred on August 21, when her mother's estranged husband, Luis Damas, 64, allegedly entered her Miami apartment and opened fire on her.

“On that night… the worst night of my life, God gave me a second chance. When the shot missed by CENTIMETERS… I was stunned, shocked and afraid that these would be the last moments of my life,” she wrote on Instagram, describing the alleged attack in detail.

The social media star also shared several gruesome photos of injuries she and her mother reportedly suffered in the brutal attack, including deep cuts on their hands, a bite mark and severe bruising.

Damas, who was married to Berroteran's mother for 13 years before the two separated seven months ago, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, burglary and false imprisonment in connection with the alleged attack, police said.

The horrific ordeal erupted when Damas allegedly burst into the apartment, demanded to know where Berroteran was and began screaming that “she was the reason they couldn't be together,” NBC6 reported, citing a police report.

Moments later, when Damas caught the young woman trying to hide in her bedroom, he said, “I'm going to kill you” and fired a single shot at her, the report said.

“I threw myself on the ground and begged him to please not do anything… I decided to crawl towards him and scream at him to stop and at that moment I heard the shot that left me stunned; but my mother, who was already behind him, wrestled with him so that the shot would not hit me,” Berroteran wrote in her Instagram post.

“He bit my mother and pulled my hair very hard. We both screamed for help, but until that moment no one listened. He insisted on shooting me.”

Berroteran and her mother said Damas eventually calmed down but made them promise not to inform authorities about the alleged attack.

They claim that he left the apartment a short time later.

The couple subsequently went to the hospital for treatment of their injuries and contacted the police the next day.

Berroteran's mother later told investigators that she did not immediately report the alleged attack because Damas “threatened that if police were contacted, he would have her killed by hitmen he knew,” the report said.

Damas was subsequently arrested and charged with a number of charges and was held without bail following his initial court hearing last Saturday.

Berroteran, meanwhile, said there are no words to describe “the terror, the pain, the trauma, the fear and the panic attacks that this has caused us.”

“Today I can tell you that trauma hurts more than physical injuries and that I really don't know how I will ever get over this nightmare,” Berroteran wrote on Instagram.
