England's Jude Bellingham will face Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior and Manchester City's Rodri in the battle for the Ballon d'Or

England's Jude Bellingham must finish ahead of his teammate at Real Madrid Vinicius Junior and midfielder of Manchester City Rodri if he wants to win the Ballon d'Or and be crowned the world's best footballer in 2024.

His goal-filled start in Spain saw him score two stoppage-time goals in the winner of El Clasico and a win with England at the 2024 European Championships would have guaranteed him the Ballon d'Or.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri is also one of the favourites on the nominees list after being named Player of the Tournament when Spain won Euro 2024 while his club defended their Premier League title.

Rodri's club colleague Erling Haaland is among the nominees after scoring 38 goals for City last season, while Phil Foden And Ruben Dias have also been awarded the contract.

England’s runner-up at the 2024 European Championship is well represented, with Harry Kane, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka And Cole Palmer everything included.

This is one more nomination than ever before for this award for England's international players, and one more than the five nominations in 2005.

Granit Xhaka played a crucial role in Bayer Leverkusen's phenomenal double season and was rewarded with a place on the list.

Barcelona and Spain's teenage sensation Lamine Jamal (17) is the youngest player ever nominated for the award.

This record was previously held by Kylian Mbappewhich is also featured on this year's list.

Yamal is also on the shortlist for the Kopa Trophy, which is awarded to the best player under the age of 21.

For the first time since 2003 Cristiano Ronaldo And Lionel Messi were not nominated for the Ballon d'Or.
