Xavier Worthy's first touch in the NFL leads to a touchdown in the Chiefs-Ravens game (Video)

It takes time for a rookie to get used to the NFL, but with a speed of 4.21, you're always the fastest on the field.

When the Kansas City Chiefs moved up on receiver Xavier Worthy in the first round of the NFL Draft, the rest of the league had to worry. Putting a player who set the record for the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on a roster with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes would be asking for trouble.

Worthy needed just one touch to make an impact. The Chiefs gave him the ball on an end-around and Worthy showed off his blistering speed, running right past the Baltimore Ravens defense for a 21-yard touchdown in the Chiefs' 27-20 victory in the NFL season opener on Thursday night.

Expect to see a lot more of Worthy simply shifting gears and making the NFL's elite athletes look slow.

Worthy also managed to get past the defense and make a key play in the fourth quarter. After the Ravens cut the Chiefs' lead to 20-17, Mahomes found Worthy on the sideline for a 35-yard touchdown that Kansas City needed to keep Baltimore at bay.

There was once a Chiefs receiver who looked faster than everyone else on the field. Tyreek Hill was watching and was impressed by Worthy's speed after his first touchdown.

The Chiefs got a glimpse of Worthy's playmaking ability in the preseason. They immediately passed the ball to him in creative ways. The first touch became Worthy's first touchdown. He scored his second touchdown shortly after in his NFL debut.
