Krispy Kreme teams up with another iconic brand to celebrate a very special, very pink anniversary

Barbie had a big birthday this year – her 65th, to be exact – and Krispy Kreme is celebrating in the best way possible.

The chain has teamed up with Mattel to create four eye-catching doughnuts that don't hold back on the glamour and glitter, just like our favourite pink icon. Barbie collectors will also love the special limited edition box, although we suspect they won't want to keep the perishable contents on a display shelf.

Before you rush out to buy a box, raid your closet for a pink sweater or T-shirt. Krispy Kreme is giving away a free doughnut to anyone who shows up at pink-themed stores on September 7—though it will be a glazed doughnut with no decorations.

“In addition to the doughnuts, Krispy Kreme has special treats for randomly selected fans, including a limited number of Barbie Fashionista dolls,” a press release said. “The dolls come with custom Krispy Kreme accessories – a Krispy Kreme paper hat, a dozen box and a doughnut. To delight fans even more, Krispy Kreme will include a custom adult-sized Barbie™ x Krispy Kreme denim jacket with each doll.”
