Recycling center in Farmingdale, NJ, scene of police investigation

FARMINGDALE – A police investigation is underway at a recycling facility in the county.

A coroner and about half a dozen detectives from the New Jersey State Police were on site on Wednesday.

The Monmouth County District Attorney's Office referred all media inquiries to the State Police, which provides municipal police services for the county.

Police officers are seen outside the Republican Party building on Railroad Avenue in Farmingdale, where State Police were conducting an investigation on Wednesday afternoon, September 4, 2024.

Farmingdale Mayor James A. Daly, however, said state police and the district attorney's office were on the scene together, but he did not elaborate on what happened Wednesday.

“The Monmouth County District Attorney's Office has been investigating with the New Jersey State Police throughout the afternoon,” Daly said. “The District Attorney's Office will issue a statement once it has completed its investigation.”

The recycling facility at 15 Railroad Avenue is operated by Republic Services.
